Adhesion Promoter – Manchem® Zircoaluminates

Manchem® Zircoaluminates feature an inorganic metal component and an organic component. The bi-functional nature enables them to “bridge” or couple two or more species through irreversible chemical interactions. Common applications which are well suited for this adhesion technology are Coatings, Inks, Rubber and Adhesives.

Commercially available direct-to-metal acrylic primer/finish applied to bare steel.

The same primer/finish application combined with Manchem 441 adhesion promoter.

These panels represent a 1,000-hour salt spray test. The coating with Manchem 441 showed no signs of corrosion beyond the scribe while the coating without Manchem exhibited significant corrosion across the entire panel.
